AN OVERVIEW OF MY PROJECTS

Working at Blackberry allowed me to work on several projects from their inception to completion. I would work with key customers, product managers, and developers to bring my designs to life. Some projects I worked on included BlackBerry Work for iOS and Android, BlackBerry Bridge, and several other screen for other BlackBerry apps.

Process

I would start my process by conducting interviews with users to analyze their behavior when using the apps and discussing feedback from stakeholders. After collecting data on which user flows could be improved, I’d familiarize myself with the existing app architecture. This would give me insight into the feasibility of proposed changes and features I wanted to make, considering the workload impact on developers. Next, I’d collaborate closely with influential developers and product owners to prioritize features based on user importance.

Upon deciding on the crucial features for the upcoming app update, I’d start creating Figma designs. I’d start my designs by drawing inspiration from other apps that users were already familiar with, such as Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail. I’d continue collaborating with developers to refine my designs and integrate them into actual changes in the app.

As my co-op term at BlackBerry reached its conclusion, several projects I had worked on underwent user testing by the beta team. This phase provided real-time feedback, allowing me to implement improvements based on surveys filled out by beta users. The result for all my projects was a meticulously researched, rigorously tested, and well-crafted app updates that are being used by thousands of users.
